Does a Best Actress Oscar Win Inevitably Lead to Divorce?

Now that poor Sandra Bullock's marriage seems to have a big huge speed bump, all sorts of reports suggest that there's some sort of "Oscar Curse" going on for women unlucky enough to take home some Oscar gold. (click on the link below)


But, then there's the other argument in two words: -- Meryl Streep.


Nope. No divorce after this.


Maybe a few babies, yes. But, post Oscar divorce? No.

And, no.

So, I'm pretty sure it's safe for those women out there wearing a wedding ring to keep aiming for those little men of gold.

And, if one or two future women-winners ever do end up getting a divorce?

Well, all I can say is, don't blame it on the statue.

I tried to flush Schaeffer's sweater down the toilet.

Especially when those paths go back even farther than high school.  I think he and I were butting heads as far back as elementary school! If my memory serves me right, Schaeffer and I ended up, briefly, in the Guilford Central School together.  Fall 1968.  Yep. I was a newly transplated girl from New Orleans dropped unceremoniously into a tiny, extremely humble elementary school out in the boondocks of southern Vermont.  I had NO idea what the hell I was doing there and was suffering my own case of "Other-itis."   I In my case, as an only child of often charming, but highly eccentric parents, my wild ride hit some very bumpy patches, More on that later.
