"Vermont," a video by one teen, about a summer car trip and it's many destinations

Image
We are all in constant motion. Toward home. Away from home. Toward new futures. Toward separations. Toward new narratives. Journeying roads known, to destinations unknown. But always, we have each other, and our memory of our journey.

Why Vermont is perhaps the perfect place for summer "white" parties, and surprise weddings

Image
This summer my girls and I were invited to a Downton Abbey-style summer white party, which, as luck would have it, was also a secret, surprise wedding celebration between an old childhood friend and her love. What could be more lovely than an exchange of heartfelt vows under moonlight in Vermont?   Nothing, I think, for last night was the perfect gathering of friends both new and old to celebrate commitment and joy. And we were very honored to be included:   ~ Congratulations to Amy and Liz!!!     !     As the light faded the band played on into the cool night air.   There was music, merriment, a few gin and tonics, cake and the sound of happy people in the air.

Visual Journey of Food, Fashion and Fun at The Orange County Fair: Last July - 2013 -- by Louise Larsen

Image
I tried to capture, in images alone, the dizzying, whirlwind sights, sounds, smells and tastes of last summer's visit to the Orange County Fair , July 13, 2013. I took it all down a few months ago, but by popular demand (by a few strangers who said they wanted to view it, again) I am reposting this blog post in it's entirety.   Today (a year ago to the very week) I am reposting along with ALL the photos I took a year ago in this post! There are many, many below.   Happy viewing! Here's your serving of carnival signage, a vast array of fried and grilled fare, the creative fair-fashionistas, skin-ink to explosions,  neon accessories, noise, movement, smoke, ringing, buzzing, swirling fair in motion. Endless happy faces.  Most of them were there with family members, some on the arm of a love (or two).  And everyone was truly  engaged in experiencing the fair -- their own way.  photobomb
