Goldfrapp love

Imagine Lady Gaga with a splash of Beverly Sills plus a dash of Debbie Harry = Goldfrapp.

Interactive Lines - Imaginary Instruments #3

I first saw Fabiana Cruz's work at  The  MOLAA Museum of Latin American Art  in Long Beach, Ca., earlier this summer. Her work was simple, but elegant and left a haunting impression on all of us.  To be honest, it's still one of the few pieces we still remember and talk about. Luckily, I found a few of her other videos which I think also represent her unique and whimsical creativity, but, I have to say, the one at MOLAA is terrific.   If you live in Southern CA, you really should check it out. Two summer movie standouts: Cyrus and Exit Through The Gift Shop

Still in a quandry about what to spend your summer bucks on at the movie theater? Well, truthfully, I can't claim to have seen remotely everything out there this summer, but I will cite one or two highlights of mine. The short review: Great:   Exit Through The Gift Shop & Cyrus. Good: Toy Story 3 Ho Hum:  T he Kids Are All Right. First of all:   I have to say, I loved Cyrus . Funny, touching, quirky and very human love story, in the odd ball way that real life is, which I appreciate. So many great uncomfortable moments that totally hooked me in. Still cracking up from John C. Reilly's line "What are you doing with Shrek in the forest." Loved this film. I have to say, I did not really love the other "big relationship flick" of the summer, " The Kids Are All Right ..."  Which, while sort-of interesting, kind-of, was actually kind of...bla.  and while it was entirely well acted seemed like a non-story.  Like Silverlake mee

"Sensology" Cool short animated film by Michel Gagné

Woke up. Found this clip and decided this was a perfect way to start the day. This animated short feels refreshingly non-verbal, which for this confirmed blogger, is really appealing. Too many words in our world.  Much better to think without words, now and then. Sensology is a short animated film by Michel Gagné that visualizes in abstract form, an improvised musical session by two leaders of the avant-guarde jazz movement, Paul Plimley (piano) and Barry Guy (bass).

Back by popular demand: "Food Court: The Musical"

These folks are my heroes. And, naturally, the real stars are the innocent bystanders.

Washing Machine fun. And not the Betty Draper kind.

I have been warned that this is an old video and that all you jaded YouTubers out there have already seen this...But, I still had to grab this for myself. My husband was watching something on his laptop over coffee today and I asked..."Is that a rattlesnake?" He said -- "Take a look.  You think it's pretty boring till about second 50."
