Exclusive: Donny Ward of 'Still Single' dated a teenage Michelle Williams

Image
During the last episode of "I Can't Believe I'm Still Single" Mark Ebner interviews Donny Ward and pointedly reminds (no, actually, he baits) Ward that Ward did once date a "teen superstar" when Ward was in his thirties. What astonished me was that Ward not only confirmed this fact, but did so by repeating the phrase, "But, she was a legal teen."    And then Ward went on to sort-of brag that he debated this moral issue surrounding dating a younger woman amongst all his other guy friends, who all confirmed that if they'd been in his shoes, they'd have dated her, too.   He even seemed to crow about how similar his situation was to that of the relationship between the Woody Allen and Mariel Hemingway characters in the Allen's film, Manhattan . (Okay.  Got that, Donny & Mark.  Whoever she was, she was smoking hot and very, very young.  So, who was she? ) It wasn't too hard to figure out from looking at Ward's bio  l

Louise's Hollywood Fireworks Triptych

Happy Fourth of July! Here are some examples of fireworks as imagined by Hitchcock, Woody Allen and Francis Ford Coppola To Catch a Thief Manhattan For fireworks go to minute 3:03 Apocalypse Now Minute 1:00 Okay, the last one isn't the same kind of fireworks. Or, are they?

Hollywood and The Meaning of Life. Happy New Year!

I've had some issues with my layout recently in this blogger website, which means, I'm having to heavily rely on videos for posts. So, I did a quick search today on New Years Eve to see if I could find a few film clips that capture how I feel about life. Ironically, I kept coming back to Woody Allen movies, and I just decided to go with it and be true to how I felt at that time.

The World According to (Some) Breeders

Welcome to my new column The World According (some) to Breeders . Rule #1) Do not EVER think about giving a minor even a fraction of a Quaalude to do her in the naughty place, or any place, and try to get out of it. So, to speak. According to this breeder, if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. Perhaps this spoof of To Catch a Predator says it all. As funny as it is it brilliantly illustrates my point that it doesn't matter if you are an award-winning director or the guy down the street; Older men justifying sex with minors all sounds the same. Polanski did the crime. He does the time. Deal with it. Creativity or having a shitty childhood or horrible past does so NOT earn you a pass when you victimize someone else. If having a crappy childhood made criminals harder to jail, we'd have prisons filled with white collar criminals. (Not a bad idea, actually) And if you do not think having sex with a thirteen year old isn't victimization, then you don&

Louise's post-Thanksgiving holiday film clip #3

Hannah and Her Sisters , by Woody Allen.   It may be my favorite film of his, let alone of all time. Story centers around several members of Hannah's family, who unite at Thanksgiving. To be honest, it's during another Thanksgiving scene in the film that I find most moving, but I couldn't find it on YouTube.   If you haven't seen this film, yet.  What can I say?  Do.   It's wonderful.  You don't even have to love NYC, although it certainly helps if you do. Here's the opening clip of Hannah ... justifying it's presence on my holiday-themed film clip list.
