It's the holidays, again, and I still just "want me this cat I found."

Here it is, the holidays again. For me, there isn't a story that isn't more about Christmas or winter redemption than the tale of "J.T." and the abandoned cat he rescues. However, once again the best the TV networks can come up with is a Hallmark presentation of "A Dog Named Christmas?" Really? Is this because right now most of America can relate to a story about a white family with a purebred Labrador when the truth is we have kids on breadlines right now? Wow. And now Hollywood decides to crank ONE MORE BORING VERSION of THE CHRISTMAS CAROL? Is this because we just haven't seen it enough, yet? We've probably all sat through watching Scrooge be played by likes of Mr. Magoo, George C. Scott, Albert Finney, Bill Murray and now, Jim Carrey. Tired. ...The Monkees was occasionally pre-empted for the CBS Children's Hour, a highly acclaimed hour-long series of 3 specials beginning with Jane Wagner's poignant teleplay J.T., the story of a shy Harlem youth's tough Christmas with an injured stray cat that he can't bring home because of his grouchy dad. So, does anyone else remember the line, "I want me this cat I found?" Well, it's from the TV movie. "J.T." which I've been trying to find for years , which aired one fateful Saturday afternoon on CBS in 1969. Here's how someone else on IMDB described "J.T." "I first saw J.T. in the late 60's or early 70's on a show possibly called "CBS Children's Television Workshop". It was on Saturday mornings about noon after the cartoons were over. It was aired sporadically after that around Christmas in the mid 70's. It isn't a Christmas movie per say but the plot is set around the time of Christmas. &qu
