For the first time in almost two years, Tina Fey reprised her her portrayal of Sarah Palin this weekend on SNL this time sending up Sarah Palin's new TLC Show "Sarah Palin's Alaska." She also introduced another fake SNL show supposedly a spinoff involving her husband  (played by Jason Seudeikis),   as an outlaw cop transplanted from Alaska in NYC. Was it as funny this time as it was the first time she did it?   Oh, I don't know.  The problem is, I find anything to do with Palin less and less funny as she wiggles her way into our lives at every given turn, even when someone as  brilliant as Fey juggles her missteps so cleverly into her comic portrayals of Ms. Palin.

Don't get me started about this new PSA. After watching it, I feel like she should just say: "Gosh, I had no idea sex would lead to a BABY! Whaaaa?! Get OUT of here! "Thank God, my mother, Saint Palin, was there to pick up the pieces. But, you probably would never be this lucky. Because I'm lucky. My family is famous. "Most normal kids would ALL make the exact same poor choices all us "party" kids in Alaska did when your moms are busy tattooing their makeup on, and campaigning out of state, too. It's obvious the only difference between you and me, is that my wonderful and famous family will pick up the pieces of my mess and none of you have the great good fortune to have Sarah Palin for Mother of the Year to fix my. Big. Huge. Failure."

Did I even question this? Right now with Sarah Palin declaring "open season" on Democrats? (Yeah. She did this. And put a gun sights on the addresses of all Democrats she wants gone.) No.....no, no, no. I may not like all the name calling and deal-making that goes on inside both parties in Washington, but after the past week's angry, tantrum throwing, hate-fest by the Republican Party -- well, it just proved to me that there is NO way that am I not anywhere but firmly on the left . My own "imaginary friend," Bill Maher, says it best with his latest "New Rules" from Real Time:

You know, like so many other people, I stayed up late to see if Sarah Palin would actually make an appearance on SNL last night. And, yeah, at first I was pretty impressed with NBC for getting Fey, Palin, Baldwin and Wahlberg all together on the show, so I posted link to the opening act. But, that was then, this is now. I thought about it some more and I decided not to give Sarah Palin any credit whatsoever.  I might have IF she actually had the courage to do the breakdance bit, later on, but she chickened out and let a pregnant woman do it.  So forget it! Anyhow -- The REAL story of the day is that Colin Powell endorsed Obama in a television interview so beautiful it reduced me to tears. Oh, hi. Woke up, remembered that today is Sunday, September 7th. 2008. Made a pot of coffee then slapped my forehead realizing, my God! I still hate Sarah Palin! Anyhow. Thankfully, I know I do not walk alone, so I chose to distract myself from the irritating thought that she's "energized the republican base" by posting something entirely unrelated and diversionary.
