Eric Idle Responds to Your Fatuous Comments

Best line: " When you're stupid there's nothing that can be done. " Recorded backstage at The Ricardo Montalbán Theatre in Los Angeles during rehearsals for AN EVENING WITHOUT MONTY PYTHON , which is a live theatrical performance only partly directed by Python alumni, Eric Idle.

Finally, celebrity Twitter feeds get the attention they deserve with these classic dramatic readings.

Handy e-book: "Nasty Women." (Hint: It's not what you think.)

Until today I was not aware that such handy ebooks like this even existed. Nasty Women "The newest book in Dr. Carter's series discusses the communication breakdown that sometimes creates nasty behavior in women, covers the many ways women are perceived by spouses, coworkers, family, and friends, and shows ways to repair the damage caused by behaviors often characterized as ""female,"" including: Catty responses to questions or remarks Passive-aggressive tendencies Misunderstandings gone awry Nastiness as a defense mechanism Withdrawal from arguments or conflict Everyone knows a person who has been hurt, betrayed, or degraded by nasty individuals or has experienced it themselves. In three books, Jay Carter, Psy. D., shows readers how to stop this cycle of overt and covert abuse, without resorting to nasty tactics. Now for the first time, this series is released together to cover all areas of dealing with difficult people. With straight-talking advice, real-

Beautiful Day Without You

I've just discovered, Royksopp , a duo from Norway whose work is so compelling, eerie and delicious that I've instantly become huge a fan . This first Royksopp clip, Happy Up Here , creatively weaves an array of visual urban imagery into a wonderful video containing some seriously addictive contemporary music. (I am reminded of work similar to LCD Soundsystem, MGMT or even Beck.) Their second video, A Beautiful Day Without You , is a haunting, yet whimiscal animated journey which is also really creative and unlike anything else I've seen. Check out these two videos to see yourself why they're easy to love. Can't wait to see more. Happy Up Here from Röyksopp on Vimeo . Beautiful Day Without You from Röyksopp on Vimeo .

Interesting dialogue about mommies who drink

So, I came across this on Heather Armstrong's mega-successful site, Dooce, and at first figured it was a prank video, like something SNL would do, but soon realized it was a serious dialogue about this subject and thought it was pretty interesting, actually. (ps....sorry about the commercial part at the beginning.) * Please note: Someone contacted me via email that they didn't understand why this was on my particular blog (I think they were concerned for me, given that I'm a mom and posted this.) and I realized that I should clarify, that the reason I did find this "momversation" so interesting was because I know this is a valid issue, and something moms talk about when they are alone, however they do not usually discuss out in public. Therefore, let me state that I applaud the honesty of those who were involved in this made-for-blog video, that's all, and that's why it's on this particular mom's blog, now. Okay, well. Oh, look! It's 9:38 A.

Won't you take ride with me?

Love these guys.

"B-B-B-Barney, be my c-c-c-comrade."

What can I say? I heart rebels with a cause: (Can someone do a mashup of this?) First, was the Way We Were ... And, then, there's the way we are . BTW: Interesting to note definition of " Comrade " as per wikipedia...

New rule: If it says it's "Back-to-school-time," then it has to act like it.

Note to Higher Being: -- Hello? Anyone there? I think you left the heat on. It's "Fall," remember? That means, you know, "Back-to-school." Time for apples and knee socks and crisp new outfits, and not a collective cast call for Lawrence-of-Arabia, Pt. II. Come on. We've been buying pencils and composition books, so synch with the collective calendar, here, and knock off the "summer" act. We're over it. So, sorry, to complain, but surf is not up. It's September . And now for something completely different.

Inspired by heat.

Baby, it's hot out there. It's relentlessly hot. It's the kind of hot that makes people snap, (more on that later) but, right now I'm exploring how others have creatively incorporated this kind of environmental phenomenon into their work. For instance, in the film "Body Heat," back in 1981, the heat was almost a third character in Matty's already crowded love-triangle. -- And so, to salute the our ability to creatively flip a hindrance into something else, something more interesting than just being cranky and sweaty, I'm posting the trailer to the film "Body Heat." By the way, I should mention that at the time, the film not only entirely lived up to trailer's hype; it transcended it. And then -- there are other films, certainly, which feature hot weather to the point that their story would be impossible to tell without heat being a part of it. What springs to mind are two famous David Lean films, both built around the subject of punis
