I "Give A Damn," too!

Why does this matter to me?

I mean, I'm straight. I'm married. I have kids.

But, even though I'm not gay, it does happen to be my issue, as well.

Why? Because being around homophobia is toxic,

and I've had my fill of toxic situations.

What my experiences taught me was that fear,

loathing and intolerance only leads to shameful, toxic lies.

And lies hurt.

I would like to see a future where all of us can

be open and honest about who we are, and who we love.

I support a world where everyone can live a truthful,

open life without dishonesty, pain or cruelty.

I want everyone to know what it feels like to be truly

accepted for who they are.

I never want another child to feel pain that they

were not what their parents really wanted them to be.

To be unloved because of who you really are is terrible.

Right now, more than ever,

we need to support each other with dignity, love and respect.

That's why I, as a straight, married mom, totally "give a damn."

Let's hurry up and have a happier, healthier world.
